Puerto Lope, Granada

  • Separate 2 floor building that could be a studio or self-contained casita

  • 2 reception rooms

  • Kitchen

  • Ground floor store room

  • Small additional living room with fireplace

  • First floor store room that could be a 4th bedroom

  • 2 bathrooms

  • Dovecote

  • Patio garden

This is a spacious and well-presented house, and can be moved into straight away, although there are areas that need some cosmetic updating. Structurally, the house appears to be in excellent condition with a good roof, high ceilings inside and good interior walls.

What is exciting about this house is the little two-storey cottage at the back of the patio which has its own entrance from Calle San Jose. This could be converted into a self-contained casita with private entrance, or it would make the most fabulous studio with roof terrace and huge windows on the first floor - ideal for an artist or writer.

That said, the main house has a lot to offer too. It is well-proportioned and ready to move into. The kitchen is functional and rather retro in appearance, but a new owner may want to refit this. Likewise, the bathrooms are dated but functional.

The property also has a functioning well in the garden and the pump fills a small water tank for the dovecote.

The dovecote is an interesting feature and may be put to better use as a first floor terrace.

On the ground floor of the main house there are two reception rooms, a spacious kitchen, a storage room, another reception room towards the rear with a large fireplace. Ground floor bathroom. Access to the patio garden.

On the first floor, there is a store room accessible via a half-landing that could be turned into a 4th bedroom. On the main first floor, there are three double bedrooms and a bathroom.

The casita at the back of the property has a ground floor accessible from the patio of the main house. The first floor is, at present, only accessible via Calle San Jose.

Ready to move in. Potential for some cosmetic updating. Exciting possibilities for a studio/casita and a new first floor terrace. Excellent value for money.

Puerto Lope is an active village with many amenities. There are 3 or 4 small supermarkets, a fishmonger, an ice-cream shop(!), an estanco/stationers, at least 3 hairdressers and an excellent ironmongers as well as a builders’ merchant. There must also be 4 or 5 good bars in the village, so there is everything you might need for day to day life. There are larger supermarkets in nearby Pinos Puente and Alcalá la Real, but Puerto Lope has plenty of excellent basics.
